When homeowners replace their roofs on their homes, there are few things to keep in mind:
a. The City of Colorado Springs requires a drip edge be installed at eaves and rake edges of shingle roofs. The drip edge must be painted the same color as the fascia, which is the trim color of the house (see PCVA Guidelines, Sec 4.3.2).
b. All gutters, downspouts, flashing, sheet metal, radon mitigation systems, vent stacks and pipes must be painted to match the surface to which they are attached or from which they project (See PCVA Guidelines, Sec 4.9.). Leaving these items a natural or white color is a violation of the Guidelines and could result in a violation by the HOA Board.
c. If you have a shed with the same roof, please ensure that the shed's roof is also updated with the same new shingles (see PCVA Guidelines, Sec 4.10.3).
