PCVA Community Inspections in March

3/15/2026

Just a friendly reminder that our March community inspections will take place during the week of the 16th. As always, these inspections help keep our neighborhood looking clean, safe, and well-maintained for everyone.

During this time, we’ll be checking for a few common items, including:
  • Trash cans left out after pickup day or stored in public view
  • Lampposts that may need painting
  • Homes that may need exterior painting (please submit your DRR’s if you’re planning improvements)
  • Wooden fences that may need repair or re-staining
  • Holiday decorations that are still up
If any of these apply to your home, we appreciate you taking a little time to address them before inspection week.

Thank you for helping keep our community looking its best!

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and continued pride in our neighborhood.

11 Things You Should Not Store in Your Car

3/1/2026

Your car can be handy for storing items you need on the go, but it’s important to balance convenience with common sense. Using your car as a storage space may increase the risk of damage to valuable items and the car itself. After you make sure that you have your essentials, be careful that you aren’t storing any of these things in your car.
  • Aerosol Cans
  • Art Supplies
  • Batteries
  • Glasses
  • Gym Clothes
  • Laptops
  • Medications
  • Important Documents
  • Plastic Water Bottles
  • Sunscreen
  • Wine

Property Protection & Recording Notification Service

3/1/2026

The El Paso County Clerk and Recorder’s Office is alerting property owners to an increase in mortgage and property fraud. There has been a rise in people filing fraudulent deeds, mortgages, or other liens against a property without the owner’s knowledge or consent.

The Clerk’s Recording Department, which records deeds and other documents, is providing a safeguard for owners. A new Recording Notification Service (RNS) is a free tool to bring peace of mind to property owners. Residents will receive email alerts for any exact matches of names or name variations registered. You may register up to 10 items per email address. Notifications are only for documents recorded in the El Paso County Clerk and Recorder’s Office after you subscribe to the service. For a step by step process on how to register for this free service, watch this video.

March is National Reading Month

3/1/2026

March is National Reading Month, a celebration that encourages reading for all ages and promotes reading as a key feature for learning, social, and professional development.

It's time to engage and motivate the readers in your lives and encourage reading every day and to foster a love of books for children across the country.

Looking for your next read or need some ideas?  Visit the Pikes Peak Library reading Lists  https://ppld.org/reading-lists

Submit one DRR per exterior improvement

3/1/2026

If you have more than one exterior improvement at one time (e.g., landscaping changes, roof replacement, window replacement, etc.), please put each DRR on a separate form (see PCVA Guidelines, Sec 5).  This helps with the timeliness of your request, so that the Modifications Committee does not hold up one improvement request while working to assess another.  This also helps the Committee capture accurate records on number and types of homeowner improvement requests.
