- Colorado Springs Utilities (CSU) will begin transitioning customers to a new electricity rate system in October, with bills based on what time of the day customers run their power.
- Effective Oct. 1, this is the new standard option for customers. CSU will transition most customers to this rate structure by early 2026.
- The Energy Wise Rates are a time-of-use rate system that will be the default billing option for Colorado Springs residents. Residents will be charged about twice as much for the power used between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. on weekdays than any other time.
- This rate will apply to most residential and business customers with smart meters, excluding net metering customers.
