El Paso County 9-1-1 Center Uses Everbridge

5/18/2020

The 9-1-1 Communication Centers in El Paso county uses a system called Everbridge to notify residents of emergencies.

It currently has residential and business landline data as well as opt-in data (meaning residents who registered their address and contact info).

If you don’t have a landline and haven’t registered, your information may not be in Everbridge.

Design Review Request Approval Takes Time

5/14/2020

The Modifications Committee asks residents to please wait a few extra days after the committee's published meeting dates before you question Hammersmith as to the status of your DRR.  This time of year the number of Design Review Requests (DRRs)  submitted are increasing, as many residents are ready to repair or improve the outside areas around their home.    The committee is working very hard to look at and coordinate the review process for each complete DRR.   Due to the current situation, the Modification Committee cannot meet face to face.  The committee is conducting its meetings via email which is a little cumbersome.  Normally, Hammersmith notifies the DRR originators in one or two days after the committee meeting. Now, the committee may not get all of the recommendations reviewed by the meeting date.    Thank you  for submitting your DRRs before you commence your project and for your understanding.   We all want Pine Creek to remain a desirable place to live.

Protect Your Trees Against Beetle Damage

5/14/2020

Recently, the arborists for the PCVA have been spraying the pine and spruce trees in the common areas of Pine Creek to protect them against boring beetles (as in beetles that bore holes in trees, not beetles that are tedious and uninteresting!). In doing so, they have identified a few trees that will be cut down because they are infected and might contaminate others. Our advice, if you also have conifer trees in your yard, is to have them inspected and sprayed at least once a year to safeguard them against these beetles. It would be far better to spray to avoid the issue than have to have your fully-grown tree cut down.

You can learn more about the Mountain Pine Beetle at these sites:

PCVA Wood Fence Repairs Starting Soon

5/14/2020

Wood fence repairs will begin soon to all PCVA-owned fences.  Workers may be required to remove fence sections in order to replace broken boards and broken posts, making escape of pets possible; homeowners will be notified prior to work beginning, but homeowners must take care to monitor work and pets.  The fence-repair company will do its best to secure homeowner property with temporary fence, but it cannot be guaranteed to be escape-proof.

Wood fence painting will follow after an appropriate period to allow new wood to dry.
